A Test and Tag Round, From Due Date to Paid Invoice
See What's Due
Open the Test & Tag Register from Assets for every site, or from a site's Compliance tab for just that site. Each appliance shows its next test due, marked overdue or due within 30 days, with the counts at the top.
Book the Round
Raise the round as a job with the Test & Tag job type the Electrical pack adds, and book an electrician from the Schedule. On the Commercial plan, a maintenance agreement can hold the round as a visit and raise its job on the morning it falls due.
Test and Record
On site, with signal, the electrician updates each appliance's entry from the site's Compliance tab: test date, result, tag colour, who tested it and their competency, and the next test due. The register fits a phone screen.
Quote the Failures
A failed appliance shows Fail beside its due date. Quote raises a draft rectification quote for the site's customer, with the tag number and location in its scope, and the quote's number stays on the entry.
Hand Over and Invoice
Export PDF opens the site's register on your letterhead, ready to print or save for the customer. Create Invoice on the job builds the draft from its time, parts and billable expenses, due on the customer's terms.
What the Office Sees
Due Dates Counted for You
The top of the register counts appliances registered, overdue, due in the next 30 days and failed at their last test: across the business on Assets, or for one site on its Compliance tab. Search finds an entry by any of its words.
A PDF of the Register or One Tag
Export PDF prints the register as a table on your letterhead, with each appliance's site, result and next test due, and how many are overdue or failed. Each entry also prints on its own as a test sheet with every recorded field and a place to sign.
Pass Rates Over Time
In Reports, Trade KPIs gives the test and tag pass rate for any date range, beside the other measures the trade packs add.
Competency on Every Technician
The Electrical pack adds Test & Tag Competency to every technician's licences, kept with its number, expiry and a photo of the card. One expiring within 60 days is flagged.
Before You Start
Worth Knowing
- You set each entry's next due date. The register keeps the interval beside it but doesn't work the date out from it.
- An entry holds the latest test: its date, result and who did it. Earlier results aren't kept as a history on the entry.
- A due date doesn't raise a job by itself. Maintenance agreements raise jobs, on their own visit dates.
- The registers need a signal. The field app's offline pack carries jobs, not registers.
- Deployr's import doesn't bring register entries across. Equipment can come in as assets, and each entry starts in Deployr.

- What does Deployr's test and tag register record?
- Each appliance's tag number, name, type and serial number, the site and location it's used at, its environment and test interval, and its latest test: the date, result, tag colour, who tested it and their competency, and the next test due. An entry can also link to an asset on the site.
- Can we see which appliances are due for retesting?
- Yes. Every entry shows its next test due, marked overdue or due within 30 days, and the register counts both. Open it from a site's Compliance tab to see one site's appliances.
- What happens when an appliance fails its test?
- Record the result as Fail, and set its status to Failed or Withdrawn. Quote beside it raises a draft rectification quote for the site's customer, and the quote's number stays on the entry.
- Can we give the customer a test and tag report?
- Yes. Export PDF on a site's Compliance tab prints that site's register on your letterhead, with each appliance's result and next test due, ready to print or save as a PDF. Each entry can print on its own as a test sheet.
- Can our electricians record tests on their phones?
- Yes, with signal. Technicians can open the register from Assets and from a site's Compliance tab, and it fits a phone screen. It isn't part of the field app's offline pack.
- Which plan includes test and tag?
