A Board Test, From Due Date to Rectification

  1. See What's Due

    Each board carries its next test due, marked overdue or due within 30 days, with the counts at the top of the register. A site's Compliance tab shows only that site's boards.

  2. Raise and Book

    Raise the job with the RCD Testing job type the Electrical pack adds and book an electrician. On the Commercial plan, a maintenance agreement covering the site's main switchboards and distribution boards raises the job on the morning its visit falls due.

  3. Test Each Circuit

    With signal, the electrician opens the board's entry and adds a row per circuit: RCD type and rating, trip time and current, insulation and earth readings, and pass or fail. One failed circuit sets the board's result to Fail.

  4. Flag and Quote

    Mark the board Compliant, Non-Compliant or Under Rectification, with the detail of any non-compliance. Quote raises a draft rectification quote for the site's customer, carrying that detail in its scope.

  5. Report and Invoice

    Each board prints as a test sheet on your letterhead, its circuits in a table and a place to sign. Record the certificate for the work on the Compliance Certificates register, and invoice the job from its page.

Every Board and Its Circuits in One List

The register lists each board with its type, location, number of circuits tested, test date and next test due, and counts what's overdue, due in the next 30 days and failed at its last test.

RCD Results in Reports

In Reports, Trade KPIs gives the RCD test pass rate, the circuit pass rate and the number of non-compliant boards for any date range.

Boards as Assets

A switchboard can be its own asset on the site, with the Electrical pack's fields: phases, main switch rating, fault level, earthing arrangement, number of circuits and RCD protection. Its register entry links to it.

Checklists for Inspections

Switching the pack on adds starter checklists for a switchboard inspection and an electrical safety inspection, yours to edit and ticked off on the phone, with or without signal.

Before You Start

Worth Knowing

  • You set each entry's next due date. The register keeps the interval beside it but doesn't work the date out from it.
  • An entry holds the latest test: its date, result and who did it. Earlier results aren't kept as a history on the entry.
  • A due date doesn't raise a job by itself. Maintenance agreements raise jobs, on their own visit dates.
  • The registers need a signal. The field app's offline pack carries jobs, not registers.
  • Certificates are recorded, not lodged: Deployr keeps the regulator's reference, and you lodge the certificate the way you do now.

Questions

Can we record RCD trip times for each circuit on a board?
Yes. Each board takes a row per circuit with the RCD type (Type A, Type AC, Type B, an RCBO or none) and rating, trip time, trip current, insulation resistance, earth continuity, a result and notes.
What happens when a circuit fails its test?
The board's result becomes Fail as soon as one circuit fails, and it's counted among the register's failed boards. Mark the board Non-Compliant with the detail, and Quote raises a draft rectification quote for the site's customer.
Can we track a switchboard through rectification?
Yes. A board is Compliant, Non-Compliant or Under Rectification, and the draft quote's number stays on its entry. Once the work is done and the board is retested, record the new results and mark it Compliant.
Can we give the customer an RCD test report?
Yes. Export PDF on a board prints it as a test sheet on your letterhead: every recorded field, the circuit table and a place to sign. The whole register, or one site's, prints as a table.
Does Deployr lodge electrical certificates of compliance?
No. The Compliance Certificates register keeps each certificate against its job, with its type (such as a CCEW, a COES or a Certificate of Testing), number, licence number, regulator, regulator reference and lodged date. You lodge it the way you do now.
